About

The Epping Police Department employs an Animal Control Officer on an on-call (part-time) basis.  The ACO responds to barking, loose, and nuisance dog complaints, and any other matters involving domestic animals.  When the ACO is not available, a Patrol Officer will respond to these calls.

The ACO can be contacted by calling dispatch at (603) 679-5122 or by Email.

When a lost dog is found we make every effort to locate the owner, to include social media.  In the event the owner cannot be located in a timely manner, the dog is brought to the NHSPCA in Stratham, NH.

We respond to many reports of dogs being left in vehicles at retail parking lots.  This is a serious concern, especially during the hotter months.

In New Hampshire, this could be a misdemeanor for the first offense, and a felony for a second offense.  The RSA is Cruelty to Animals.
